Frostbite and sunstroke healed

When I was growing up, my mother, who was a widow and a member of an English opera company, had to leave me in the care of a nurse while she traveled. Mother's career and other circumstances kept us separated for years. During a stay in America, she became interested in Christian Science. Later, after I had become a Scientist myself, I learned how Mother had prayed for me when she was informed of various crises in my life. Fine solutions had resulted, and they sometimes occurred in the most unexpected ways.

During our years apart, when people asked Mother how she could bear to be separated by thousands of miles from her only child, she firmly replied that I had my Father-Mother God always with me, meeting my every need. Looking back, I realize that I never lacked love, that there was always someone at my side expressing the fatherhood and motherhood of God. I am grateful for this practical proof of divine Love's ever-present care.

My own study of Christian Science began while I was still young enough to attend Sunday School, and I was soon accepted for Christian Science class instruction. Lovely healings followed.
